HIGHLIGHT Multi Function Lighting System

Highlight is an extruded aluminium trough lighting system which over the past twenty years has illuminated many thousands of shop fascias and billboards across the UK, and beyond.

The standard unit is Highlight T8, which took over from the original Highlight profile in 2002, retaining its tried and tested LPF control gear and T8 cool white fluorescent lamps, but offering a sleeker look, and easier access to control gear and-where fitted-reflectors.

Highlight T5 High Output was introduced to cater for smaller signs where space was at a premium, but offers even stronger performance than Highlight T8, thanks to the use of T5 high output fluorescent lamps, operated through Osram Quicktronic FQ electronic ballast units.

In 2004, a further variation was introduced, in the form of Highlight T5 Budget. Here, the smaller Highlight T5 profile is teamed with the standard LPF/T8 electrics, and finish is limited to standard white or black, all allowing us to offer this variation at prices comparable with those of halogen spot lights.

All three Highlight variations utilise the same, versatile Highlight bracket system, which allows telescopic adjustment to compensate when fitting to uneven surfaces such as profile cladding, and is also very quick to fit, thanks to the clip-on fit mechanism.

Also, available from January 2009 is an entirely new Highlight profile named Eco-star, built around our own Lumirescent (LED based) lamps.

The origin of the Spectra signcase system dates back to the end of 1971. The die print confirms that Alcan produced a die for the extrusion in May, 1972, making it one of the first extruded aluminium signcases in the UK. At that time, the system was known as Strata, the rights to which were owned by H. Astley & Co.

Although thirty years have now passed, and the system has received many modifications, the basic construction has remained the same: utilising captive bolts for assembly, which offers superior strength compared to systems which rely on pop rivets, while also allowing for re-adjustment.

When Insight purchased The Signcase and Lighting Company, along with all the registered designs from H. Astley & Co. several years ago, the aim was to develop this signcase system to cover a wide range of applications. This has been achieved, making the Spectra Multi Signcase System unique in utilising a family of extrusions to produce signcases of many styles and configurations to suit almost any application.

Insight provides a made to measure service, offering fully made up cases to any exact size, powder coated to most RAL colours. Prices are very compeititive, quality very high.
Delivery times range from seven to fourteen working days (mainland UK), depending on the finish (n.b. longer for multiple jobs). You can purchase in component form for self-assembly, if desired, with most of the components available in 96 hours. We can provide full assembly instructions and telephone assistance free of charge.

WAYFINDER Directional Sign System

The Wayfinder Directional Sign System offers the perfect solution for most types of free-standing signs. With a number of post profiles to choose from, several having multi-panel configuration, combined with their own unique features, the Wayfinder system will suit most applications.

What really sets this system apart from others is the heavy gauge of our posts, combined with the fact that our standard and fabricated text panels have a unique tongue-and-groove fitting, which keeps the panels twist-free when bridging the gap between posts, especially on wider spans, while also preventing unsightly shadow-gaps.

As you will find as you browse through this web site, we have tried hard to offer some unique styles and variations. Our Mono-Curve for instance allows curved faces, while our 'D' and 'V' posts offer monolith styles, and our Edgelight post allows internal illumination of face panels, even though the panel thickness is just 25 mm.

Taking all the features and high quality into consideration, together with the fact that we offer free CAD drawings with every quote, we hope you will be impressed.

Bespoke products from Insight have been produced for many years, yet we did not advertise the fact that we had the capabilities and machinery to produce such a wide range and variation of sign products, from a simple folded sign panel to a very complex totem sign.

Over the past two years the demand for non-standard signs has grown 100% and we are finding that no matter how many new and innovative extrusions we design to service the sign trade, designers working for the major retailers usually request a non-standard product. We do our very best to produce something catering to their requirement utilising our standard range of extrusions, alongside fabricated metalwork.

Bespoke products normally start out with a CAD drawing for the client which, if suitable, can be quickly converted into a prototype. This lets them show their client how the new sign will look before commencing with the actual signs.

We are continuing to invest heavily in all the latest CNC metal work equipment which will allow us to produce high quality innovative one-off or multiple designs. By August 2008 we will have added the very latest CNC metal folding system which not only produces complex folded shapes, but also radius and octagonal shapes which can then be incorporated into folded sign panels, side columns etc. We will also benefit from a very fast CNC punching machine which will quickly punch many shapes in our bespoke components. A tube bending machine will allow us to product arch-top free-standing signs, circular sign cases etc.

Lumirescent

Lumirescent™ is a new brand of lighting products researched and developed by Insight Sign Systems in conjunction with one of China’s leading lighting companies.
The Lumirescent™ brand is centred around DIP and SMD lamps, which are a direct replacement for T8 fluorescent lamps, providing comparable levels of illumination yet consuming only 3w per foot, with a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, complete with a 3 year warranty. They require no control gear, working straight from the mains (220/240v) and can be retro-fitted to any existing T8 fitting (simply replace lamps, and disconnect old control gear). They do not flicker or buzz, and contain no harmful mercury, so no WEEE charges.
In addition to the lamps, we currently offer three other Lumirescent™ products, with plans for further additions. Deco Light is an inter-connectable modular system (available in 500 and 1,000 mm lengths, in a variety of colours) suitable for outdoor illumination, wall washes, mood light, window surrounds etc. Light Strip is a compact and flexible 5,000 mm roll of LED’s which can be cut and joined, giving it great versatility. Ideal for edge lighting, counter lighting etc. Flexi Strip is another versatile product which comes in 1,000 mm flexible lengths and can be used to replace exposed neon, or for back lighting letters etc.

We hope to include more information and photographs on the lumirescent page (click here) soon.

Fabricated Stainless Steel Letters

Insight now offers high quality built-up stainless steel letters to any style (artwork required), illuminated or non-illuminated.

We only use premium grade stainless and can offer various colours and grains.

All we ask is the chance to quote. We will then send you a sample letter at a refundable cost before first order. When you see the quality, we assure you that you will be amazed. This is because the faces are cut by water jet, which leaves the edges polished to match the face of the material. Our soldering techniques are to a very high standard and our fixing methods are to suit the requirement.

We hope to include more information and photographs on the fabricated stainless steel letters page (click here) soon.
