| Insight Once Again Expands Through Acquisition Article Date: November, 2004 This acquisition adds a range of new services for Insight's clients, due to the fact that Signwise was equipped with a vast range of plant and equipment, including 3,000 x 2,000 mm Feranti laser, 2,500 x 1,200 mm Spandex router, 60" wide Encad digital printer, 60" wide seal laminator, Spandex vinyl cutters, neon shop, large paint shop with digital paint mixer, vaccuum forming machine, large fully equipped metal shop. The above Signwise 12,000-square-foot factory will have a new 5,000-square-foot extension to the rear, completed April, 2005. During the next six months, while the factory is being expanded to become an Insight trade supply centre, a host of further equipment will be added, including a CNC brake press and guilloteen, powder coating plant, flatbed digital printer, and a complete new computer network with custom software linking every process from stock to production to invoicing. Each new service will be individually phased in. First will be laser work, fully operational by the beginning of December. “The main type of work that Insight will be chasing will be fabricated stainless steel letters”, comments Mr. Rinn, “We have already started recruiting ex-Signwise metalworkers, all of whom have over twenty years experience in building up high quality letters. I see a big future in this type of work as banks and building societies get back to quality images to mark their presence on the high street”. ![]() ![]() Next will be the digital printing, starting around January, and allowing Insight to complement their Spectra Speed Flex system by offering the made up cases complete with faces (albeit only up to 60" wide). Finally, by April, 2005, the complete operation will be in full production, with a total staff of around thirty. This expansion, together with new products should double Insight's turnover and profit. New products include Dibond Frame, Lock & Seal Poster Frame, and the all new Spectra Poster Case System, available by late November. Insight's future should be very good. “The best part”, says Mr. Rinn, “is that we already have over 500 account holding clients who will hopefully take up the new services”. Getting back to stainless steel, this will become Insight’s main product next to their wide range of aluminium extrusions. Mr. Rinn comments: “we want to make good use of our laser, and utilise the vast experience of our new staff of six specialist metal workers, each with over 20 years of experience in fabricating letters, projecting signs and many bespoke products”. During the coming three months, Insight will be working hard to develop price lists and information covering the range of products and services they will be offering. “We have always tried very hard to publish detailed price lists”, comments Mr. Rinn, “while aware they may be used by our competitors to under-cut us, we do not intend to start offering discounted prices. Instead we will ask for a fair price, as we are going to produce very high quality, using only the best quality materials, and offering the best possible service”. |
