The Bespoke page gives you information and photographic examples on some of the custom fabricated work we can do, including CNC routing, CNC folding, modification of existing extrusions and much more. Lumirescent is our new range of LED based lighting products, including lamps intended as replacements for T8 fluorescent lamps, running at a fraction of the electrical consumption. We also have flexible and very versatile LED strip products which can be used in anything from edge lighting to illumination of built up letters where normally neon would be used. The Fabricated Stainless Steel Letters area tells you a little (more information soon) on a service we are offering for exceptionally high quality stainless steel fabricated letters. In addition to these new areas of the product page, you will see that the existing Highlight, Spectra and Wayfinder ranges have received new additions. Highlight Eco-star is a brand new lighting profile based around our Lumirescent LED lamps. Spectra Halo-light is an edge-lit poster frame with a unique halo effect. Our popular Speed Flex system is in the process of receiving an overhaul to make it even better to work with, starting with the integral version (Spectra Speed Flex 2), with other variants to follow suit soon. Spectra Posterslim is a new LED-based slimline edge-lit lockable poster frame. Finally, the Wayfinder range has the new addition Wayfinder Multi-post, a replacement for both the 76 and 100 mm round posts, which utilises 6 mm thick aluminium panels rather than our previous fabricated panel system, offering much greater flexibility and simplicity. We are adding more infomation and photo's to the new pages on a regular basis at the moment. |
| Holidays Article Date: June, 2008 Dear valued clients, for the past twenty years Insight has been closing the Glasgow factory in July (last day in Friday 18th July, first day back Tuesday 5th August). This was a traditional Glasgow holiday dating back a very long time, and was suitable because we had another factory in Ashton-under-Lyne which kept manufacturing going, combined with the fact that we used this period to carry out essential maintenance on machines and the powder coating plant. Because we no longer have the Ashton factory, this will be the final year that we close at the Glasgow Fair. After this year, holidays will be staggered. We would ask all clients to plan ahead for this year's holiday, and bear in mind we will be closed between 21st July and 4th August. Although phones will not be answered, you will still be able to get quotations and information, so please e-mail or fax any enquiries during this period. Please also allow up to 24 hours to receive quotations, although realistically it will be quicker. We would like to thank you for your help. |
| The Sign Show Article Date: June, 2008 Insight will be showing several new products at The Sign Show, Ricoh Arena, Coventry between the 2nd and the 4th of September 2008. Our stands are H13 and G14. We will be giving a sneak preview of the new products on the web site before the show, as and when we have received samples from the extruders, but please bear in mind that the samples are for testing before bulk orders go ahead so will not be up to actual bulk order standards. |
New CNC MachineryArticle Date: June, 2008 This month sees the installation of two new state of the art CNC machines at Insight. The TURBObend Plus folding system, with its innovative 'draw and fold' features will allow us to create much more sophisticated folded panels than at present, with such features as curves, which when combined with our extrusions will increase our potential for manufacturing bespoke products.
More information on the machines can be found on the manufacturers web site by clicking on the machine names above. A .WMV video of the TURBObend plus in action can also be seen by clicking here. |
| New Speed Flex Integral Article Date: February, 2008
The cover plate now has spring-assisted operation, meaning practically no effort is required to open or close it, but most importantly, when open the spring holds the cover plate in position, so when work is being carried out in the tensioning area, it will not be blown down, and it is also not loose, so no health and safety risk of it falling down on someone. This replaces the existing cover plate which was screw-free and the first of a kind in any system, but did require some effort to open and close. The drip-lip design is retained on the new cover plate, to prevent streaking down the sign face. Potential tensioning has now been increased by around 5 mm, which can be very helpful on large signs, but more importantly the design has been modified to allow the Alumiflex tensioning tool (shown in photo above) to be used to tension the flex holders, making for a much simpler, faster, and more refined tensioning experience. The new Speed Flex Integral will also be available in silver anodised finish, which will be very competitively priced when compared with powder coating, with faster delivery times. The rest of the Speed Flex system will be updated during 2008 in line with the new design. Finally, we will be offering very high quality digital printed faces, complete with laminated finish. Budget Post and Panel IntroducedArticle Date: January, 2006A new addition to the Wayfinder system, Wayfinder76 uses the same high quality components as the rest of the Wayfinder system, but at a lower cost, by limiting the panels to the four standard text panels, and finish to standard gloss white. For more information, see the Wayfinder76 product page. |
| Spectra Easyclic Article Date: November, 2005Further to the article below titled 'Discontinued Extrusions', stocks of the Spectra Easyclic extrusion have now run out, and this product has been removed from our catalogue. The extrusion was specifically introduced to cater to a special large contract which has now run its course. |
| Discontinued Extrusions Article Date: October, 2005Recent increases in the minimum order quantities of extrusions, to 2,000 kg have caused us to look seriously at certain slow-moving sections in our range, and question whether re-ordering will be viable when current stocks run down. We have decided to discontinue three sections for which current stocks have now run out: Wayfinder Duplex Post, Wayfinder Mini Mono-Wave and Wayfinder Mini Tri-Curve. These products have now been removed from the Products index on this site. Re-ordering would be a possibility only in the case of large orders. |
