What follows is some general information and things to consider if you are ordering a Highlight unit. |
Unit Length and Lamp Sizes Although the Highlight extrusion can match the exact length of your sign, smaller units can sometimes have their lengths determined by the length of fluorescent tubes. Example: An 700 mm long unit will contain one 610 mm lamp. If possible, increase the length to 920 mm, allowing a 910 mm lamp to be fitted, as this will ensure that you do not have shadow gaps at each end. The alternative is to choose a LED version which can match the exact length. |

Fixing Bracket Length It is very important to choose the correct length of fixing bracket to ensure the drop of illumination covers the entire sign face. The chart below gives you a rough guide to what size of fixing bracket you may require, and is based on a flat white sign with vinyl letters. If your sign or letters project, base the length of fixing bracket on accomodating this. For example, if you were to illuminate a standard flat 1,500 mm deep sign, the chart indicates 200 mm brackets. If the letters projected 100 mm you would add that 100 mm on to the length of the brackets, hence becoming 300 mm brackets. |

Uplighters Uplighters should be avoided where possible, as they obscure the sign when looking up and become dirty, and therefore inefficient very quickly. |
